He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Blanch Zottoli and William Thomas Murtaugh; and his sister Mary Francis Owens. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Marie Murtaugh; his children, Nicole Marie Pierre (Shawn), John Robert Murtaugh, Jr. (Bobbi) and Karen Patricia Murtaugh; his siblings, Helen Marie Zottoli, Marjorie Jane Baumann, James Francis Murtaugh, Patrick Michael Murtaugh and Herbert Ingersoll (Tom); his grandchildren, Jed, Melissa, Logan Wachter, Avery Pierre and Georgie Murtaugh; and also, Bruce Wachter, Stephanie Brown, Cayden Brown, Reagan Brown and Angela Smith.
