He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary McHale (Campbell) and John Martin McHale, Sr.; his siblings, Peggy, Mary Ann, Dorothea, Ginny and Peter; and his nephew Peter Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Rita (Volpe); his sons, John Martin McHale III (Meghan) of Waltham and Tom McHale, Sr. (Jeanette) of Kensington, Maryland; his grandchildren, Tommy, Patrick and Maggie; and his nieces and nephews, Sharon Cowher, Christine Frank, John, Michael, Dan McHale and Robert De Lissio. He is also survived by many cousins, grand- and great-nieces and grand- and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 17th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church (4103 Prices Distillery Rd, Ijamsville, MD 21754). A Mass was held on Saturday, August 17th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to Camilla Hall, the Convent Home and Healthcare Center of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
