With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Canty Dempsey of Frederick, Maryland, born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 17, 2023 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Francis and Ella Bernice Dempsey (Mackowski) of Warsaw; his brothers, William, Richard and Donald; his wife Helena; and his former wife Celia Hahn of Washington, D. C..
He is survived by: his uncle Len; his sisters-in-law, Dorine (Smith) and Nancy (O'Neil); his children, Mary Elizabeth (Thomas Simons), Christine, Carol Ann (Bill Coffman), Bernadette, Suzanne (John Piper), John Mark (Eileen) and Kathleen (Gregory Borek); and his grandchildren, Erin, Alan, Audrey, Herbert, Nathan, Joshua, Alysha, Tyler, Hannah, Chelsea, Gideon, Angela, Monica, Allison, Jack, Patrick, Travus, Jordan, Madeline and Johnathan.
