He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret L. Boyer Burger and Leon Eichelberger; and his siblings, Vicki Lynn Dees Peel (John) and Robert Lee Burger (Deana). He is survived by: his children, Kristan Marie Gray (William) of Altoona, Pennsylvania and Kenneth Lee Lampenfeld of Altoona, Pennsylvania; his siblings, John Franklin Burger, Jr. (Melissa) of Williston, Sheryl Ann Burger and Jon Marie Burger of Frederick, Maryland.; and his grandchildren, William Francis Gray, III, MaKayla Rose Gray, Emma Marie Gray and Dixie Marie Prom Lampenfeld. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
