Dwight Wesley Leeks Obituary
Dwight Wesley Leeks Sr, known to most as “Squirt or Beasley", age 69, passed away on March 22, 2023 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb 26, 1954 to the late James Edward Leeks and the Late Joyce Bernice Ambush-Leeks. He graduated from Frederick High School in 1976, then served in the United States Army and later received a medical discharge. He became a foreman for the landscaping company J.H. Burton & Sons in Onley MD. He worked various warehouse and construction jobs and also worked for Frederick Precast.
Along with being a father, son, brother, and grandfather, Dwight enjoyed working the family farm pruning and gardening, he loved landscaping and building all kinds of things by hand. He was very talented when working with his hands creating puzzle pictures and needle working, an aquarist, and he loved animals.
Dwight had a great sense of humor and he was very helpful to everyone. He was a passionate man. He had a big imagination and a very creative way of thinking. Dwight was well known by many and definitely was one of a kind. He will be greatly missed, but the memories and fun times we all shared with him will always be a comfort and continue to live in our hearts. We love you!
Dwight was survived by his 6 children: Jerice Leeks, Cherise Leeks-Parrish (husband O. Parrish), Ryan Leeks, Chairon Leeks-Hartman (husband Richard Hartman), Aaron Leeks (wife Carly Leeks) Joyce Leeks-Boyd (husband Lee Boyd) He also had 17 grandkids.
Dwight is also survived by his siblings: Lavinia Leeks-Tunstall (husband Michael Tunstall), Barry Harris (wife Katherine Harris) his nephews, Matthew Tunstall, Luke Harris, Seth Harris and his niece Lillian Harris.
Dwight was preceded in death by: His son Dwight Wesley Leeks Jr otherwise known as “Tink" along with a host of Uncles, Aunts, and cousins.
