We bid farewell to Dewalt Joseph Willard Jr. (Frederick, Maryland), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 13, 2024 at the age of 93. Dewalt Joseph touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though Dewalt Joseph may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Dewalt Joseph touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewalt Joseph Willard, Sr. and Virginia Chiswell Ball. He is survived by: the mother of his children Frances Amato Willard; his siblings, William G. Willard (Jane) of Little River, NC and Sarah Ann King (David) of Derwood, MD.; and his children, Bobby Willard (Lynda) of Key West, FL, Billy Willard, Sr. (Ann Marie) of Poolesville, MD, Jimmy Willard of Jefferson, MD and Patti Weiss (Mike) of Charlotte, NC.. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home-Frederick (1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. John (118 E 2nd St, Frederick, MD 21701).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be directed to St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church (112 E. 2nd Street; Frederick MD 21701) or Frederick Health Hospice (1 Frederick Health Way; Frederick, MD 21701).
