She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry C. Coates and Mae Lucille Coates (Danner); her great grandchild Haley Alethia McCluskey; her sister Diane Coates; and her brothers-in-law, Fred Hatcher and Norman Rollison.
She is survived by: her husband Donald Edward Brashears; her children, Cynthia Shaw (Wayne) of Woodbine and Donald Edward Brashears, II of Frederick, MD; her grandchildren, Nichole McCluskey (Jamie), Amanda Shaw, Nick Shaw (Sofiia), Kristina Miller (Jonathan), Yashaumen Majette, Alexander Majette and Anaysia Hyater; her great grandchildren, Jamie McCluskey, Jr., Milee McCluskey and Yaliviana Majette; and her siblings, Carol Hatcher, Sharon Williams (Roger), Ruth Rollison and Harry Coates, Jr. (Peggy Coates).
