He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Brown and Arnold Brown; and his nephew James Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Connie J. Brown; his son Douglas Scharnberg; his grandson Cassidy Scharnberg; his sisters, Norma Swanson and Betty June Jones; and his nieces and nephews, Deborah Johnson (Stephen Johnson), Carrie Jenkins (Jeremy Jenkins), Carter Jenkins, Luke Jenkins, Brayden Jenkins, Matthew Johnson (Elizabeth Johnson), William Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Allison Johnson, Mekayla Johnson, Kaden Johnson, Dane Swanson (Karen Swanson), Dane Edward Swanson and Lydia Grace Swanson.
