She was predeceased by: her parent James Matthew; and her siblings, Toula Bockting, Matthew Protos and Nick Protos. She is survived by: her spouse John G. Karanikas; her parent Sophia Manolas Protos; her children, Jim Karanikas (Kathleen) of Brookeville, George Karanikas (Denise) of Jefferson and Mary Ivins (John) of Litha, FL; her sister Mary S. Hantzes of Rockville; and her grandchildren, Kevin (Catilin), Brian, Nick, Sophia, Allie, Jessica, Katherine, John Robert, Katie and Beth.
