He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence A. Gates and Mary Hazel Gates; his brothers, Clarence M. Gates and Francis C. Gates; and his wife June C. Gates.
He is survived by: his children, Lorraine M. Thompson (Spanky) and William "Billy" B. Gates Jr. (Cristie); his grandchildren, Sydney Siwecki (Jarred), Hannah Herridge (Noah) and Amanda Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Aryanna and Dillon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of William B. Gates to St. Mary's Catholic Church of Piscataway.
