He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Hoff and Ruth Hoff; his wife Annie H. Hoff; his sons, John Paul Hoff and Wilfred "Steve" Hoff, Jr.; and his brothers, Donald Hoff and Carl Hoff.

He is survived by: his children, Deborah Muse (Roger "Gil") of Finksburg, Diane Buchman (Charles) of Taneytown, Michael Hoff of Finksburg and Donna Hoff (John Brenner) of Taneytown; and his sister Dora Lee-Eyler of Westminster. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
