He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Hamby and Mary McNeill Hamby; his wife Ruth E Hamby; and his brothers, Dean Hamby and Thurman Hamby.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susie Morgan of Dover, DE, Jane Scott of Woodside, DE, Brenda Adams of Milford, DE, Christy Spain of Virginia and Bobbie Jo Downey of Virginia; and his half-sisters, Shirley Watson and Annie Goodman. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
