He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard N Garner, Sr. and Patsy "Pat" Joan Bratton Garner; his brother Stephen; his stepsiblings, Patty, Janice and Roy; and also Richard James Garner, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Wendy Garner of Federalsburg; his daughter Jennifer Ellen Garner (Tim Clark) of Hurlock; his grandchildren, Richard James "R. J." Garner, Jr. (Rebekah), Christopher Scott (Caitlin), Bradley Nelson Garner (Erin), Brittney Eizabeth Nicole and Ryan Nelson Clark; his great grandchildren, Colt, Bennett, Parker and Finley; and his sister Mary Denise Treece of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Union United Methodist Church (301 N Main St, Federalsburg, MD 21632).
