He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Rust, Sr. and Esther Everett Rust; and his brother Richard Rust Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Linda Rust of Farmington; his sons, Jefferson W. Rust, Jr. (Barb) of Milford, Scott R., Paul Edwards (Jen) of Milford, Brad Betts (Kimmy) of Queen Anne, MD and Brian Betts of Georgetown; and his siblings, Leon Rust, Jr. of Greenwood, David W Rust of Felton, Randall C Rust of Harrington, Sharon Dawson of Milford, Cindy Bolin (John) of Farmington and Patricia Mast (Gordy) of Harrington. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
