He was predeceased by: his parents, S. Edward Ayers and Cleda Gay Hunnell Ayers. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Harding Ayers; his children, D. "Wesley" Ayers II (Robyn) of Federalsburg, MD and Angela Ayers Fletcher (Scott) of Arlington, VA; his brother Sanford Edward Ayers III (Harry) of Lewes, DE; his grandchildren, Justin Ayers, Andrew Ayers, Brooke Planner, Alexis Planner, Dylan Fletcher and Davis Fletcher; and his great grandchild Gabriel Ayers.
