He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Lowell Garland, Eula Garland, John Sr. and Helen Chell. He is survived by: his parents, Douglas Chell and Linda Chell (Garland); his brother Ryan Chell; his uncles, John Chell and Ed Garland; his aunt Paula Chell Bradley; his cousins, Jayson (Kelly Garland), Megan Garland, Alissa (Jeff Gank), Meghann Chell (Michael Medaglia) and John Chell III (Carolyn); and his grandmother Ruth Garland.
He will continue to teach as his body has been donated to the National Institutes of Health for research into Propionic Acidemia.
