He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleveland Garland and Lillian Holmes (Toms) of Virginia; and his siblings, Lillian "Doll" Whitmore, Barbara Darr, Cleveland Holmes, Jr., Gary Holmes, Sr., Denny Holmes and Bobby Holmes.
He is survived by: his daughter BobbiJo Marie Hornbaker (Holmes); his grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Leggett and Brayden James Leggett; and his siblings, Mary Jane Beachley, Debra Beavers, Thomas Holmes and Richard Holmes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
