He was predeceased by: his parents, Tyson Welty and Mary Welty (McNair); and his siblings, Margaret Baker, Bernard and James Welty.
He is survived by: his wife Miriam Augusta Welty (Sandkuhler); his children, Yvonne Harbaugh of Fairfield, PA, Cynthia Knoepfel of Fayetteville, PA, Joseph Welty (Jan) of Frederick and Vincent Welty (Rosemary) of Emmitsburg; his sister Barbara Martin of Emmitsburg; his grandchildren, Meredith, Joseph, Olivia Welty, Travis Martin and Wade Harbaugh; and his great grandchild Atley Harbaugh. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
