We bid farewell to Sonja E. Vacek (Ellicott City, Maryland), born in Orlando, Florida, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 10, 2024 at the age of 77. Sonja touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though Sonja may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Sonja touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Frank Vacek Jr.; her children, Joyce Lilly, Debra Shumate, William Vacek, David Vacek and Frankie Vacek III; and her sister Melody Fetik.
Viewing was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home (4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at 4795 Ilchester Rd, Ellicott City, MD 21043. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at the Lakeview Memorial Park (2724 Liberty Rd, Sykesville, MD 21784).
