She was predeceased by: her parents, Christian Frederick Kamka and Annabelle Sybal Kamka; her husband William Bryce Smith; and her siblings, Christian F. Kamka, Thelma K. Long and LaVerne M. Grove.

She is survived by: her children, Jan F. Nethen of Darlington, MD, Claire Nethen Hetrick (Newton B. Hetrick) of Ellicott City, MD and Gary Kamka Nethen of White Hall, MD; her grandchildren, Megan Erickson, Kelly Raudenbush, Erin Hamson, Hayley Beirne, Corey Nethen, Jack Nethen and Haven Duffey; and her great grandchildren, Maddie Fowler, Abigail Erickson, Evan Raudenbush, Ashlyn Raudenbush, Andrew Raudenbush, Lydia Raudenbush, Bohdan Hamson, Audrey Hamson, Thatcher Hamson, Benjiman Beirne and Brooks Beirne.
