He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph H. Goebel and Lucy Goebel (Bittinger); his wife Anna May Goebel (Elder); his granddaughter Emily Kate Goebel; and his siblings-in-law, Jack Gerhard, Virginia Goebel and Bonnie Goebel.
He is survived by: his children, James A. Goebel (Lori), Karen E. Kinney (Don), Rebecca L. Appel, Sally A. Goebel and Patti A. Goebel; his grandchildren, Thomas, Jeramiah, Lucy, Page, Maggie, Meleah and Will; and his siblings, Joan Gerhard, Ernie Goebel (Thelma), Charles Goebel, Mike Goebel and Richard Goebel.
