Wilson Edwards Obituary
Wilson Edwards, age 77, of Elkton, MD passed on July 29, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mitchell County, NC, on June 13, 1944 to the late John Edwards and Etta (Johnson) Edwards. Shortly after he was born the family moved to Chester County, PA where he was raised. Wilson worked for Lenape Forged Products for thirty years before retiring and moving on to M. Davis and Sons for twelve years, continuing to use his talent as a Millwright.
He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed being out by the water. Wilson had a talent for drawing and painting, as well as, writing beautiful poems. He enjoyed going to yard sales, so he could add to his collection of many different antiques. Wilson stood strong about his political views, and liked talking to others about their opinions.
He loved watching Westerns and playing a game of poker. Wilson took great joy in spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Wilson is survived by his wife, Sallie E. Edwards; two sons: John Wilson Edwards and his wife, Amy and Charles Eugene Edwards and his wife, Kelli; two daughters: Michelle Ann Edwards and Charity Dawn Hardy; daughter in law, Tina Hardy; seven grandchildren: Kayla Hardy, David Madonna, Matthew Madonna, Will Edwards, Olivia Edwards, Emily Hardy, and Greyson Edwards; great-grandson, Kevin Jay Gates; sister, Irene Norris; several nieces and nephews, and a special mention to Lee and Karen Pinder.
In addition to his parents, Wilson is preceded in death by his son, Jay Hardy; grandson, Casey Hardy; sister, Pauline Barr; and three brothers: Eugene Edwards, Bryan Edwards, and Simon Grant Edwards; two brother in laws: Robert Norris and Joe Daemer. The family is having a memorial gathering on Saturday, August 7, 2021 starting at 3:00 PM at Harvest Pentecostal Church, 340 Old Bayview Road, North East, MD 21901 where friends and family may attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the family for funeral expenses and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
