He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Bender and Leola Bender. He is survived by: his wife Katherine Bender of Elkton, MD; his children, Steven F. Bender (Selina) of North East, MD, James H. Bender (Sandra) of Churchville, MD, Thomas D. Bender (Adrianne) of Port Deposit, MD and Shawn M. Sadler of Elkton, MD; his stepchildren, Angela Shrewsbury (Bryan) of Elkton, MD and Archie Newby of Elkton, MD; and his sister Goldie Webb. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
