He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Sammons and Eleanor Sammons (Wiggins); and his wife Joann Sammons. He is survived by: his children, Joseph Sammons (Deborah) of Florida, Regina Sammons of Elkton, MD and Teresa Sammons of Elkton, MD; his grandchildren, Zachary, Nikki, Richard, David, Billy, Jr., Matthew and Jaclyn; and his sisters, Elaine Schoettle (Richard) of Ocean City, MD and Joan Hemphill of Berlin, N. J.. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the R. T. Foard Funeral Home (259 E Main St, Elkton, MD 21921). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at the All Saints Cemetery (6006 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to "Amedisys Foundation" and send in care of the funeral home.
