He was predeceased by: his parents, Friedhilde Schumacher Ritter and Billie Ritter; and his siblings, Jimmy, Ruthie Ritter, Brigitte Karashin Powell and Edith Nahm.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Ritter; his sons, Brian Ritter (Pamela) of Elkton, MD and Joshua Ritter (Brielle) of Elkton, MD; his siblings, Wilfried "Bill" Ritter of Gibsonville, NC and Rebecca Leonard of Oklahoma City, OK; and his grandchildren, Austin Ritter, Melissa Abe and Taylor Abe. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
