He is survived by: his wife Janet Renz (Muffy); his son Christopher Scholla (Surita); his grandsons, Tucker and Brody; his daughter Megan Taylor (Jeff Taylor); his grandchildren, Brinley, Austin, Brooks and Maeve; and his siblings, Stephen Scholla and Tiki McCarthy Finney.

Through his work Mike made important contributions to the global development of state-of-the-art sterile packaging practices and to the protection of patients who rely on sterile medical devices.
