With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen I. Phelps of Elkton, Maryland, born in Grundy, Virginia, who passed away on May 4, 2021 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wallace Blankenship and Ada Pennington Blankenship; her husband Woodrow Phelps, Jr.; her daughter Angela L. Phelps; and her sister Marie Grindler.
She is survived by: her children, Alesia J. Phelps of Elkton, MD, Woodrow "Woody" Phelps, III of Elkton, MD and Alexis L. Phelps of Kennedyville, MD; her granddaughters, Vanessa I. Phelps and Tanya M. Rhoades; and her siblings, Mildred Friedrick of Elkton, MD and Wilson Blankenship of Romney, VA.. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
