He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Montgomery and Violet Jones Montgomery. He is survived by: his wife Ruthann Patrick Montgomery; his son Derek Montgomery; his grandchildren, Morgan Montgomery and Ophelia Montgomery; his sisters, Gloria Massengill (Alfred), Gail Frazier (David), Gilda Anderson (David) and Gena Vaughan (Felix); and his brother-in-law Dave Patrick (Lorna). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
