It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Francis Lee Ulmer of Elkton, Maryland, born in Wilmington, Delaware, who passed away on November 8, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Ulmer and Luilla Gamble Ulmer; his wife Irene Ulmer; his daughter Virginia Tweed; his grandchildren, Troy Sadler, Jessica Hilaman, Michael Sadler Jr. and John Tweed, Jr.; his great grandchild Zachary Lowe; and his brother Elwood Ulmer.
He is survived by: his children, Frances Knapp of Columbus, OH, Irving Sadler of Lincoln, DE, Marion Bell (Cleve) of Chesapeake City, MD, Linda Gillis of Elkton, MD, Michael Sadler Sr. of Elkton, MD, Lisa Holmes (David) of Elkton, MD, Theresa Hilaman (Robert) of Elkton, MD, Tammy Davis (John) of Elkton, MD and Daniel Ulmer (Judy) of Elkton, MD; and his siblings, Clarence Ulmer, Carol Rash, Barbara Stigile and Charles Ulmer. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Hicks Home For Funerals (103 Stockton St, Elkton, MD 21921). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
His contributions to local organizations and his unwavering commitment to his loved ones will be missed by all who knew him.
