He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Brockell and Edna Carter Brockell; and his brothers, Richard "Dick", Jack, Edwin and Earl Brockell.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Brockell; his children, Emmitt Brockell, Jr. (Beth) of Nottingham, PA, Vanessa Foskey (Alan) of Leander, TX and Mark Brockell (Sharon) of Elkton, MD; and his siblings, Vernon Brockell of Elkton, MD and Jo Ellen McClary of Newark, DE. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
