He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper McCoy and Maxine McCoy (Chambers); and his brother Ralph McCoy. He is survived by: his wife Angie McCoy; his children, Chad McCoy (Joy), Jennifer Swintek (Bryan) and Charlie McCoy, II; his grandchildren, Samuel Swintek, Leo Swintek, Gabriel Swintek, Lilly McCoy and Gannon McCoy; his stepdaughter Amy Reynolds (Harry); and his siblings, Jack McCoy, Noble McCoy and Virginia Asbury.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the R. T. Foard Funeral Home (259 E Main St, Elkton, MD 21921). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at the Elkton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to "Elkton VFW 8175" or "Bayside Community Network" and sent in care of the funeral home.
