It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amy I. Braywood of Elkton, Maryland, who passed away on February 27, 2023, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Clarence Oscar Cox; her son Damon Braywood; her stepfather Nathaniel Purdie; and her brothers, Clarence Cox and Lawrence Cox.

She is survived by: her mother Florence Lyle Purdie; her husband John Melvin Braywood Sr.; her children, Jonathan Braywood of Elkton, MD, Faith Braywood of Elkton, MD, Brandon Braywood of Elkton, MD, Damica Braywood of Elkton, MD, John Braywood Jr. of Elkton, MD and Adam Braywood of Columbia, SC; her siblings, George Lyle, Leroy Cox, Georgianna Braywood, Debbie Ray, Valerie Cox, Natae Wilson, Gregory May, Jeffrey May, Kyle Lynn May, Natalie May and Mia May; her friend Linda Aguayo; and her sister Sherry Hinton. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
