He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Marilyn J. Henkel; his children, Mark E. Henkel and David L. Henkel; and his grandchildren, Robert, Jeanette, Garrett and Samantha.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
