He was predeceased by: his parents, Solomon Zeldin and Annette Zeldin. He is survived by: his children, Avram Polinsky (Stephanie Block) and Breina Rippy (Scott); his wife Ivy Konel; his siblings, Howard Zeldin (Marcie) and Ilene Zeldin; his grandchildren, Harrison Polinsky, Victoria Rippy and Zander Rippy; his nieces, Julie Zeldin (Michael Losure), Wendy Zeldin, Ilana Konel, Rachel Konel and Bethany Konel; his great-niece Eleanor Annette Zeldin Losure; his great-nephew Solomon Hagedorn Zeldin; his brother-in-law Michael Konel (Laurel Scarr-Konel); and his uncle Murray Zaroff (Judy Zaroff).

“I had the privilege of working with Marvin for five years at Howard County Head Start. Marvin was one of the kindest most gentle souls I've ever encountered. The children adored him and so did his colleagues. On many occasions Marvin and I talked about a number of topics -- sports, working out, children, his life in Ohio and his family. He adored his family as I know they adored him. To the family, please accept my condolences and prayers. Marvin was loved by so many.”
