He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Iroanya Akobundu and Besther Akobundu; his wife Regina Akobundu; his children, Chibuzo Akobundu, Eberechukwu Onukwugha and Ucheoma Akobundu; and his granddaughters, Chidinma Onukwugha (Akudo), Kelenna Onukwugha, Chioma Onukwugha and Chika Onukwugha.

Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the visitation on Saturday, March 20, 2020 is limited to 10 guests at a time in the room.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a memorial scholarship to be established in Okezie's honor may be made to Oregon State University (OSU), College of Agricultural Sciences either online or by check.
