He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Elwood Bennett and Ann Joy Senior Bennett; and his siblings, Terry Bennett and Maureen Ann Harney. He is survived by: his wife Susan Elizabeth Bennett; his children, Eric Dale Bennett (Debbie), Lisa Lynn Bennett (Matthew Fiore) and Brandi Marie Smith (Victor); and his grandchildren, Sarah Blicharz (Karol), Julie, Brittney Bennett, Amber Miller (Chase), Gary Jones (Emily) and Amanda Wolfe (Phillip). He is also survived by six great grandchildren and one grandchild.
Sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to St Paul's United Methodist Church Endowment Fund.
