He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Araminta Broadway, Percy Jacobs, Harry Groce' and Pearl Bailey-Groce; his siblings, Vernon Wayne Jacobs, Lee Hill and Fontella Jacobs; and his parents, Emma Virginia Lee Harris and James Henry Groce'.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie Bailey Groce'; his children, Tarence Bailey Sr. (Michelle) of Denton and Wanda Bailey of Easton Md; his grandchildren, Tarence Bailey Jr. of Denton, Daemonitae Bailey of Easton Md, Jerrell Flanigan of Easton Maryland, Ayana Bailey of Dayton and Cheyenne Bailey of Bradenton, Fla.; his siblings, Calvin Hill of Easton Md, Wanda Smith (Wayne) of Denton, Denese Bolden (Milton) of Federalsburg, Letha Mae Jones (Ellis) of Greensboro, Valena Williams of Dover De, Lavena Mosley (Jeffery) of Bridgeville and Betty Hunt (Eddy) of Greensboro; his stepmother Ethel Williams of Philadelphia; his uncle Roger "Mack" Groce' of Greensboro; his aunts, Aleta Groce' of Greensboro and Marjorie Potts of Starr; and his cousin Marshall "Marty" Bailey (Charles Griffin) of Easton.
He also served as chief advisor to the Bailey-Groce' Family Foundation Inc. Operation Frederick Douglass on the Hill.
