He was predeceased by: his parents, Maximillion John Schmidt and Marie Johanna Trageser Schmidt; his daughter Lisa Marie Schmidt; and his sisters, Kathleen Keaton and Doris Mayhorn.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Schmidt; his son Wayne Schmidt (Kay); his grandchildren, Stephanie Liles (Nicholas) of Greensboro, MD, Brandon Schmidt of Cape Canaveral, FL and Joshua Schmidt of Cape Canaveral, FL; his great grandchildren, Aiden Liles, Parker Liles, Lillianna Schmidt, Isabella Schmidt and Iris Schmidt; and his siblings, Gloria Hartstock of Parkville, MD, Irvin Schmidt (Doris) of Bel Air, MD and Kenneth Schmidt of Lorton, VA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
