He is survived by: his wife Diana Gwaltney; his children, Amy Watercutter (Brian) and Charles Daniel Gwaltney, Jr. (Danielle); and his grandchildren, Zack, Hannah, Brandon, Chase, Reba, Lexi and Jackson. He is also survived by six sisters and one brother.
