She was predeceased by: her parents, Sarah Ella Posey and Charles Ellis Singleton; and her husband James Clark Vernon. She is survived by: her children, Donna Jean Johnson (late James Johnson), Dennis Clark Vernon (Barbara Jill Vernon) and James Ira Vernon (Robin Lynn Vernon); her sister Gladys Whaley; her sisters-in-law, Mary Vernon and Kathleen Vernon; and her nieces, Hazel Williams, Evelyn Pribble, Ida Snow, Virginia Knight and Betty Straley (Francis Stapleton).

Donations to Dundalk Church of God in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
