He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia Tingler; his daughter Jacalyn Gray; and his grandsons, Anthony Johnson (Denise) and John Michael Pinkus. He is survived by: his children, Vickie Tingler (Jack), Brenda Maley (Victor), Allen Tingler, Judy Hoover, David Tingler, Gayle Gencel (John) and Joyce Deveas; his grandchildren, Earl Johnson IV (Kelly), Christy Johnson, Carly Ardell, Dawn Harrington, Lindsay Maley, Lori Hoover (Eric), Jason VanDevander (Jess), Nathan Gencel, Samantha Christiani (Kevin) and Kristen Stipek (Jon); his great grandchildren, Earl Johnson V, Lauren Johnson, Jacob Johnson (Brittany), Brandon Owens, Zachary Harrington, Hailey Ardell, Olivia Williams, Kayla Olszewski, Madison Christiani, Elizabeth Christiani and Noah VanDevander; and his great great grandchildren, Harmony Mackay, Theo Johnson and Ruby Mae Johnson.
