He was predeceased by: his wife Nettie Viola; his parents, Roy J. Thurston and Alice L. Thurston (Simms) of Mineral; his siblings, James, Ida Gray, Jack, Peggy, Patsy and Stuart; and his daughter-in-law Diane.
He is survived by: his brother Gerald (Sue); his children, Linda Ricketts and Ray Thurston Jr.; his son-in-law Don; his grandchildren, Greg, Jordan and Meghan; and his granddaughters-in-law, Sarah and Kate. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk (7110 Sollers Point Rd, Dundalk, MD 21222). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Holly Hill Memorial Gardens (10201 Bird River Rd, Baltimore, MD 21220).
