He was predeceased by: his parents, Lafayette James and Sarah Blanche McGuire; his siblings, Paul McGuire, Lafayette McGuire Jr., Kitty Fraizer, Sara Legere and Mary Shipley; and his stepson Wade Poteat.

He is survived by: his children, Randi Tur and David McGuire Jr.; his children-in-law, Edward Tur and Emma McGuire; his parents-in-law, Brooke Pirotte and Fallon Tur; his great grandchildren, Ethan Tur, Rhys Pirotte, Ryan Pirotte and Carley Burkindine; and also Anthony Tur. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their spouses.
