He is survived by: his siblings, Mildred Chapman, Deborah of Charleston, SC, Elaine Demu of Flushing, NY, Melvin Simmons of Bronx, NY and Charles Simmons of Orlando, FL; and his friend Dolores Richards. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

““Jessie L Simmons Jr” & Oscar and the world! He was the nicest, most loved man in the world. He was a high ranking Mason which he was very proud of this fact. And presided over quite a few Eastern Star’s courts and business. He knew the workings inside and out of the Masons & Eastern Star’s. Also Jessie was a Shriner. He was always the perfect host, regardless if he was tending bar or holding court. He was a man’s man in every sense of the word. Jess & Oscar we’ll see you on the other side.”
