He is survived by: his sons, Bernard (Patricia) and Michael (Gail); his wife Corene Smith; and his daughters, Arlene Barnes (Mark), Darlene Gilliam and Charlene Diggs (Kevin). He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
