He was predeceased by: his daughter Vera Bennett McFadden (Austin Eugene McFadden); his parents, Vera Bennett McFadden and Austin Eugene McFadden; his brothers, Billy Kennedy, James Nelson, Thomas Nelson and Ashwell McFadden; his brothers-in-law, Sanko Sanders and Sam Caldwell; and his daughter-in-law Beverly E. McFadden.
He is survived by: his close friend Mary L. Price; his former wife Willie J. McFadden; his children, Austin Smalls (Mary), Beverly Boone (Harmon), Donna McFadden Hopewell (Anthony) and Wayne A. McFadden; his sisters, Jo Ann Caldwell and Dora Jean Sanders; and his grandchildren, Adrienna Bassett (Charlie), Quione Rice (Terrence), Kendra Tindal, Anthony Hopewell Jr., Nicolin Hopewell (Nina), Wayne J. McFadden and Tanisha Velez (Darius). He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
