He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank William and Annie L. Whisman (Harrison); his siblings, Frank W. Whisman, Jr., Carl Edward, Helen Marie Degrange, Henry Ray, David Lee and Wayne Douglas; and also Meghan Davidson.

He is survived by: his close friend Annabelle "Piggy" Davidson; his siblings, Frances Johnson of Westminster, Nancy Smith of West Virginia and Albert Whisman (Della) of New York; his brother-in-law Floydie Degrange of Frederick; and also, Annabelle E. Davidson of Brunswick, Evelyn Rowland of Hagerstown, Ricky Davidson, Jr. (Katie) of Brunswick, Kelly Hottinger, Carter Hottinger, Joshua Corl, Thomas Corl, Zachary Rowland and Ashlee Davidson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“Annabelle and Family, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I worked with Howard for many years in the Mont Cty Road Department and for several years when he drove the big delivery truck for Lewis' Orchard. Howard was a 'fun' person to work with and be around. Sometimes challenging! I first knew Howard in the mid 60s, when he helped Bill & Elsie Pyles build their house by the RR tracks. Fond memories! John Thompson”
