He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond B. Butler and Helen Harris Butler; his former wife Margaret Butler; his children, Brad S. Butler and Kelly L. Shockley; and his brother Addison P. Andrew.
He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline B. Butler; his children, Michelle Butler Wood (Chris) and Raymond P. Butler, Jr. (Jaytawn); his grandchildren, C. J. Wood, Kaitin Butler, Madison Butler, Jacob Butler and Dylan Butler; and his brother Jerry Butler. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
