He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Henry Eckeard and Mabel Mae Schmitt; his wife Sandra M. Eckeard; and his brother Dutch Schmitt. He is survived by: his children, Betty Jo "B. J." Devers (Kevin) of Denton, Cheryl Lynn Getchell (Scott) of Denton, Dawn Marie Northam (John) of Denton and Irvin Henry "Hank" Eckeard, Jr. (Sandy) of Denton; his siblings, William Eckeard (Sissy) of Smyrna, DE, Ida May Walkley of Townsend, DE and Rose Weber (Calvin) of Townsend, DE; his grandchildren, Raymond Devers (Kesley), Richard Everage, Jr., Brandon Eckeard (Amber), Lindsey Wade Eckeard, Christopher Devers (Jordan), John Wayne Northam, Jr. (Katie), Brooke Thomas, Kyle Getchell (Shelby), Ashley Ray (Lawrence), Tyler Devers (Kristina), Austin Eckeard and Patrick Cesarini; and his close friend Judith McFerren of Denton. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
