She was predeceased by: her parents, John J. Mitchell and Hazel Dickerson Mitchell; her former husband John P. Ellmore, Jr.; and her daughters, Catherine L Gallagher and Joan A Bartlewski.
She is survived by: her husband John H. Merritt; her children, John P. Ellmore of Glenolden, PA, Florence H Coia (John) of Laurel and Mary E Twilley (Howard) of Laurel; her stepchildren, Melanie L D'Armi (Kelly) of Laurel, Crystal R Prentice (Bill) of Cleona, PA and John H Merritt, Jr. (Kelly) of Delmar; and her sister Roxie Parsons of Delmar. She is also survived by five grandchildren; eleven step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; six great step grandchildren.
